Founder & CEO

Chata Spikes is a virtuous woman of many talents.  She is a 2001 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Fort Valley State University, in Fort Valley, GA. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Radio/TV Broadcast. In 2011, she earned a Masters of Organizational Leadership and Communication from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Chata's passion for the art of communication and media has allowed her to use her creative writing skills, sultry voice, and one-of-a-kind personality to launch Spiked Commuications, LLC. She considers it a blessing to thrive in her purpose.  As a result of word of mouth, Chata grew her clientele list which ranges from churches to schools, local governments, and political candidates.

She has more than 20 years of media experience having held various positions both on and off camera with Fox News Channel, ABC & CBS, in addition to WSB-TV, WYFF News 4 in Greenville, South Carolina, WMAZ in Macon, Georgia, and DeKalb County Television.

In 2007, she was bitten by the education bug. What was supposed to be a one-month lecturer session turned into  years of educating future media/communications professionals. She is an adjunct professor of mass communications at her beloved alma mater, Fort Valley State University.

In 2014, she developed R.E.V.E.A.L. an educational development program that utilizes Research, Education, Values, Excellence, Awareness and Leadership to teach students about various aspects of communications and media.

Although her work keeps her busy, she still finds time to volunteer and mentor young adults; through her motivational workshops I'M REAL which focus on Scholarship, Self-Esteem, Self-Image, Self-Awareness, and Success!

Professionally, she served as the first Director of Communications for the City of South Fulton, GA; Deputy Director and Director of Public Affairs  for the Atlanta Police Department and news producer for ABC, CBS, FOX and CNN.

Chata enjoys doing voiceovers, reading and writing, family time, and of course, like any other girly-girl--shopping!

She is a member of Leadership Georgia Class of 2011 and was featured on the cover of the Georgia Trend magazine's 40 under 40 - Georgia's Best and Brightest 2009 edition. Spikes’ accolades also include being featured in Who’s Who in Black Atlanta in 2008, 2010, and 2012; as well as a member of the Education Policy Fellowship Program Class of 2012.  Chata is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
